Love Lake Wylie?

Did you know…

• Lake Wylie was man-made in 1904. It is the oldest of 11 lakes that are part of the Catawba River system.

• The name comes from Dr. W. Gil Wylie, who is the originator of what is now known as Duke Power.

• The lake has over 13,400 surface acres of water and 325 acres of shoreline and an average depth of 20 feet deep.

• There are several parks and public accesses to the lake from both NC and SC.

• The lake is connected to both NC & SC by the Buster Boyd Bridge that was constructed in 2001. The Sloan’s Ferry Bridge connects Gaston County to Mecklenburg County, NC and was first constructed in 1911 and later widened in the 1950s.

• Waterfront homes range from $250,000-$1,390,000+
